The University of Oklahoma Western History Collections and the Bizzell Memorial Library Government Documents Collection are hosting a free hands-on workshop to help you find and use United States Federal Government web pages about Native Americans. The workshop will take place on Tuesday April 6, from 1:30 to 4:30 PM in Bizzell (Room 149-D).
This 3-hour workshop will show you how to use the following federal websites that contain information about Native Americans: Indian Education Office, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Indian Health Service, National Indian Gambling Commission, HUD-Office of Native Programs, the "Collection Search" search engine of the National Museum of the American Indian, and others.
The workshop will be led by Steve Beleu, Government Information Librarian of the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Department of Libraries Government Documents Collection was named Federal Depository Library of the Year for 2009.
