"Chemistry 1540 - 1911," a new exhibit in the lobby of the History of Science Collections, celebrates 2011 as the International Year of Chemistry. Featured items include first editions and rare works by Marie Curie, Robert Boyle, Antoine Lavoisier, John Dalton, Amadeo Avogadro, Dmitrii Mendeleev and other items related to alchemy, chemistry and chemical engineering. No appointment is necessary to view the exhibit; it will be available until the end of the semester. The exhibit is open during the regular hours of the History of Science Collections, which is located on the 5th floor of Bizzell Memorial Library.
