OCLC Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program

The OCLC Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program allows faculty from institutions that are members of the OCLC Reciprocal Scholars Program to borrow books from the libraries of other member institutions. Many academic libraries in the United States and Canada participate.

Participating in the OCLC Reciprocal Scholars Program

Any faculty member from OU with a clear library record may apply. Any faculty member from a participating institution may present his or her OCLC Reciprocal Scholars card at our circulation desk to borrow books. This program is not available to students or staff members. Apply for a card at the main circulation desk at Bizzell Memorial Library. You may view a list of participating institutions online. Each library you visit will have different rules for visiting scholars, so it is best to check with that library's circulation department to see what you will be allowed to borrow.

Using Your OCLC Reciprocal Scholar Card at OU

Present your OCLC Reciprocal Scholars program card and your home institution faculty photo ID, and you will be allowed to borrow up to 30 books for 30 days, with 5 renewals. Your card is good for one year, and you are subject to the same fines as undergraduates. We do not provide off-campus access to databases to visiting scholars, but you may apply for a temporary ID to use these databases in the library building.
