Books That Inspire 2002

Diffusion of Innovations
Everett M. Rogers

Two years ago, I was asked to give a talk on my experiences with educational technology. After collecting and categorizing my war stories, I visited the library to see if there was any literature on the topic. I found Diffusion of Innovations by Rogers. I read the entire book in one evening, and recategorized my experiences into his framework. I ended up talking more about his book than my experiences. Since that time, I've used his research extensively to make my efforts to help faculty learn about educational technology more productive and less frustrating for all concerned.
