Healing Our World in an Age of Aggression is a look at the aggression inherent in modern democratic society. Dr. Ruwart recognizes the vote as a potential act of violence against one's neighbors, and discusses the various ways in which we sanction or even demand the aggressive use of force against one another. In so doing, she challenges us to rise above the petty bickering of partisan politics, to seek peaceful and cooperative means to settle our political disputes, and to recognize the freedom of the individual to act according to his conscience as being of paramount importance.
