Books That Inspire 2005

The Count of Monte Cristo
Alexandre Dumas

The Count of Monte Cristo is about education and perseverance. It is a book that inspires because it illustrates how the quest for knowledge can sustain an individual during their darkest days. The things that Edmond Dantes learned kept him alive while he was wrongfully imprisoned in the Chateau D-If and gave him the means to fulfill his destiny when he finally tasted freedom. The book demon-strates that no matter how bad things get for somebody, education provides the potential to provide for a better day.
