The things that Edmond Dantes learned kept him alive while he was wrongfully imprisoned in the Chateau D-If and gave him the means to fulfill his destiny when he finally tasted freedom. The book demon-strates that no matter how bad things get for somebody, education provides the potential to provide for a better day.
