Little Giant: The Life and Times of Speaker Carl Albert
Carl Albert, with Danney Goble

Coming from a small, rural Oklahoma town, I was apprehensive about making the leap from high school to the “big” University of Oklahoma. Once I read his book, Little Giant, I could certainly relate to Carl Albert’s emotions as he left home to attend OU. From a two-room schoolhouse in Bug Tussle, Oklahoma, to OU, to Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar and then on to the chambers of the Speaker of the U. S. House of Representatives, Carl Albert’s determination to reach his goals is an inspiration to everyone – no matter where you are from.
