The Odyssey
Homer
More by This Author
For me, to be educated means to be well read and I’m not referring to keeping up with the latest and hottest release. I’m talking about classics. My favorite tale doesn’t take place in the Shire or Mordor or even at Hogwarts. It takes place in the deep heart of Greek mythology. If you are looking for adventure in a wonderfully creative world while adding to the sophistication of your literary palette, I recommend the story of Odysseus’ quest to return to his home in Ithaca following the Trojan War in Homer’s The Odyssey. After you have completed The Odyssey, maybe read something from Virgil or Sophocles or Shakespeare.
