| | What I Believe Tariq Ramadan |
"Our societies are awaiting the emergence of a new "We." (p. 130) Ramadan is one of the voices in Islam calling for change among, not only groups and societies who live outside Islam, but to those inside Islam. His clarion call needs to be heard more now than ever before, given the complexities and conflicts rising in our world. Ramadan's "Manifesto for a New We" inspires me because the call he raises requires me to be responsible for doing my part to aid in a new world "we" where humanity is our family and our diversity is a mark of delight rather than disdain.
