The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals
Michael Pollan

A feedlot, a farm, a freezer, and a forest…each a source for food and each investigated by Michael Pollan in The Omnivore’s Dilemma. This book explores the origins of four very different meals and encourages the reader to appreciate and understand the vast amounts of energy, effort, and ingenuity required to produce food. Encountering Pollan's research has changed my life by providing sound justification for choosing a vegetarian, local-foods based diet. I now realize food is a privilege, not a right. Read this book and challenge yourself to become more mindful, aware, and grateful for the opportunity to choose what you eat.
