| | Revolutionary Road Richard Yates |
Some books take you to whimsical places. Some books inspire.
Not this book.
So why, for me, is it a "Book that Inspires"?
Richard Yates' 1961 novel, Revolutionary Road, drops you off at the end of the street with a couple of answers and a few more questions. Yates breaks your heart, but offers you a cup of coffee while doing it.
This book inspires me in a different way. It inspires me to question the American dream. In Oklahoma, most women I know who are 25 are married (some with kids). I don’t want that. I don't want to live on revolutionary road. And that's ok.
