Put Me in the ZooRobert Lopshire
My copy of Put Me in the Zoo is over 50 years old and now on its third generation of readers. It's a great example of a funny story that entertains with silliness, teaches colors and numbers, and inspires readers (both young and old) to think outside the box. It contains the timeless lesson that we all have unique gifts and talents to share; we just have to find our place in the world. As the wise boy and girl in the story say to the spotted animal who really thinks he belongs in the zoo, "With all the things that you can do, the circus is the place for you!"
