| | Anne of Green Gables L. M. Montgomery |
As a child, reading was my passion; my nose could always be found in a book. Anne of Green Gables, though, was one book I originally did not intend to read. Given as a present, it sat on my shelf for several years until, one day, I decided to finally pick it up. Immediately I was drawn into Anne's world. Once I started, I couldn't stop reading, and I didn't stop until I had finished the entire series. Montgomery's writing paints a clear picture of Anne and her adventures. Reading Anne of Green Gables was where I learned of "kindred spirits," and to this day my closest friends are my own kindred spirits.
