Key Card Access--Chemistry/Mathematics


Eligibility

Faculty, graduate students, visiting scholars and post-doctoral researchers of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry and the Department of Mathematics are eligible to access the Chemistry-Mathematics Library when the library is closed. Access to the library will be through the OneCard system (faculty/student identification card issued by the Bursar). Authority to use OneCard to access the Chemistry-Mathematics Library is non-transferable: only the individual with OneCard authorization for after-hours access to the Chemistry-Mathematics Library is eligible to use the library. The application for access must be approved by the Chair of the Department prior to approval by the Associate Dean of Libraries for Public Services, University Libraries.

Fees

Access fee is $20.00 annually.

Use of Library

After the Chemistry-Mathematics Library is closed, faculty and graduate students may access the library with their activated university ID card. Patrons are requested to sign in and sign out when they enter and leave the library. Library use will be monitored by the OneCard system and security cameras.

Use of Library Materials

Library materials are unavailable for check-out after the library is closed. The photocopy machines will be available for use. Patrons are requested to photocopy needed information.

Application Procedure

Applications are available on the University Libraries website and from the Dean’s office at Bizzell Memorial Library. Submit completed forms to the Department Chair. The chair will forward forms to the Dean’s office, Bizzell Memorial Library, Room 212NW, for OneCard authorization. Applicants will be notified by email when their application is approved and instructed to come to the Library Dean’s office to pay the fee and have their card activated.

OneCard authorization to access the Chemistry-Mathematics Library will expire on August 13, 2009. Renewal applications will be accepted in the Dean’s office beginning August 3.

Lost or Stolen OneCards

If your OneCard is lost or stolen, report the loss immediately to Debra Engel, Associate Dean of Libraries for Public Services.  

Review Process

After-hours access to the Chemistry-Mathematics Library will be reviewed by University Libraries annually.
