OU Link to Article is a service that will provide you with a range of options for acquiring an article, either online in another database, in print at OU, or through interlibrary loan. Use OU Link to Article when the article you desire is not available full-text in the database you used to find the citation.
Using OU Link to Article
To use OU Link to Article, click on the OU Link to Article icon in the article citation.
A new window will open, presenting you with three options for obtaining the article:
A link to the full-text online version of the article if available to OU,
A link to search OU’s catalog by journal name or ISSN, and
A link to submit an interlibrary loan request for the article if OU does not have access to the article either electronically or in its physical holdings.
When using OU Link to Article:
- Follow any available links for full-text by clicking on the database name. (Hint: You will need to note the volume, issue, and year if there is no direct link to the article.)
- If full-text is not available online, then check OU’s catalog by using the journal name or ISSN search options. This will automatically search OU’s catalog for the journal in which article is published.
- If OU does not provide electronic or physical access to the article, then you may request the article by clicking on the interlibrary loan link. (Please do not request interlibrary loan until after checking the OU catalog. Interlibrary loan requests will not be completed for items OU owns.)
If you have questions or problems using the OU Link to Article service, submit your question to OU’s Ask Us service.
