What to expect at University Libraries

Like many areas of OU, the University Libraries have been preparing our facilities for a safe return to campus. Here are a few of the changes to be mindful of as you prepare to return in the fall. These policies are aligned with the OU Together Plan established by the university.

Study Spaces & Facilities

All individuals in indoor University facilities must wear fabric or disposable surgical-style masks that cover their nose and mouth. Bandanas and scarves are not acceptable.

Study areas throughout University Libraries have been marked to promote social distancing. Please follow the guidelines to maintain a safe atmosphere for the OU community.  Check the occupancy within the libraries to find a place to study.

Study rooms are still available for reservation and must be reserved for use.  Occupancy in these rooms has been reduced. Please respect occupancy limits and the duration of reservations. Time has been scheduled between reservations to allow for cleaning and air circulation.

The Bookmark Cafe in Bizzell Memorial Library is temporarily closed. Please eat outside of library facilities; food deliveries are not permitted. Drinks with lids are allowed.

Services

A number of library services are now available by appointment only. Book your appointment by following the links below:

Technology

To promote social distancing, University Libraries has removed a number of computers from Bizzell Memorial Libraries’ main floor computer lab and the branch libraries. We have relocated some computers to the Lower Level I Learning Lab area. To view available computers, visit our LabStats Dashboard.

To better serve the OU community, University Libraries increased the number of laptops available for check-out at the Bizzell Memorial Library circulation desk.

Non-OU Affiliated Visitors

Visitors must wear masks on campus and should bring their own.

Visitors invited to campus for mission-critical business will be directed to complete a visitor/vendor COVID-19 Screening and Reporting Tool prior to their arrival on campus.

University Libraries has a limited number of computers available for guest use on a first come, first served basis. Passwords may be obtained in the computer lab on the main floor of Bizzell Memorial Library. Sessions are limited to 30-minutes.  Guests may utilize multiple sessions per day, but will be expected to wait their turn if lines form.
