Introduction to 3D Scanning

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of scanning from life into 3D. We’ll focus on how to identify good subjects for and how to get started using photogrammetry, laser scanning, and the Structure Sensor. We’ll also discuss the best ways to begin editing, viewing, and sharing your 3D models.

Software Carpentry

This 2-day Software Carpentry workshop is part of an ongoing series hosted by the OU Libraries designed to help teach computing skills and best practices to faculty, staff and students to get more done with less pain. The workshop will be covering Bash (command shell), Python, and Git/GitHub to help participants learn the process of creating shell scripts in bash and python to serve as tools to help them in their research activities. 

Topics this workshop will be the command shell, Git and GitHub, and Python as the programming language. 

This workshop is is geared towards beginning coders. Intermediate coders can get help with their questions during open office hours every Thursday from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. in the Digital Scholarship Lab and Fridays from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Innovation Hub; no appointment is needed.

Introduction to Microcontrollers

April 11, 2017 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

In this workshop, you will learn all you need to know to begin working with microcontrollers. We will begin by introducing simple circuits, and the the Arduino microcontroller itself and its programming language. We will compare and contrast the Arduino UNO to the Sparkfun Redboard. We will point you towards the Arduino website where you will find official Arduino documentation and example code. We will finish by blinking lights, sensing button presses, and implementing simple logic in code

OUR Workshop: LSAMP Info Session

The Oklahoma - Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Program (OK-LSAMP) is a statewide alliance of Oklahoma colleges and universities led by Oklahoma State University. The alliance’s goal is to increase the number of students from under-represented populations who receive degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines and continue their education at the post-graduate level.

Come learn about what VR technologies are available at OU and who has been using them (for what purpose). We will engage with Google Cardboard, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and the Microsoft Halolens. Finally, we will share ways to become more involved with the growing community surrounding this emerging technology.
