Assistant Dean, Strategic and Research Initiatives

This leadership position reports to the Dean of University Libraries (UL) and participates in the Senior Management Team, a body working with the Dean to provide overall UL leadership, direction, and the promotion of organizational impact on OU’s research and academic mission. The Assistant Dean will serve as lead designer, facilitator, and manager of UL strategy-setting, as well as organizational liaison for institutional research initiatives supporting UL contributions to institutional success. As assigned, the Assistant Dean will help define and manage Dean-sponsored initiatives and projects affecting UL-wide programs and impacts. This position facilitates the library’s strategic planning process, data-gathering and analysis, and the implementation of strategic priorities. Director of Digital Collaborations and Partnerships

The University of Oklahoma Libraries seeks a creative, collaborative, and highly strategic leader to serve as the inaugural Director of Digital Collaborations and Partnerships. This Director will lead the launch of and oversee a unified digital research hub and studios initiative supporting computational research, digital scholarship, multimodal and media-rich creative work across disciplines.

Building on more than a decade of digital scholarship and research support at OU, the Director will lead the administrative, outreach, and project management team responsible for the hub’s centralized services, coordinating user intake, project lifecycle support, programming and community-building activities, creating consultation and expert referral pathways to the studios and campus partners. The Director plays a critical strategic role in advancing OU’s Lead On Strategic Plan goals, including elevating research excellence, fostering interdisciplinary innovation, and providing world-class academic resources. Research Data and AI Specialist

The University of Oklahoma Libraries seeks to recruit a Research Data and AI Specialist to advance research data services that support computational, reproducible, and AI-enabled research across the University Libraries system. As research increasingly relies on large, complex datasets and emerging computational methods, this position helps researchers manage, analyze, preserve, and responsibly use research data within computational and reproducible workflows. The Research Data and AI Specialist provides consultations, instruction, and embedded research support on research data management, computational and reproducible workflows, and the ethical application of artificial intelligence to research processes. Working collaboratively with Libraries and campus partners, the position scales services, cultivates data and AI literacy, and expands institutional capacity for responsible, transparent, reproducible, and sustainable research. Responsibilities include providing consultations and instruction; advising on data management plans, metadata standards, computational and reproducible research practices, and research data sharing; developing services that enable long-term stewardship and access to research outputs; supporting responsible AI-enabled research workflows; collaborating with campus partners to advance open science initiatives; and evaluating emerging technologies that strengthen research support across the university.
