Tours of Bizzell Memorial Library
Generally, OU Libraries do not offer building tours for groups separate from scheduled library instruction sessions. However, tours can be arranged through the OU Visitor Center in conjunction with a campus tour.
OU Libraries do offer tours in the following areas:
Individuals wishing to arrange a school group visit should contact Karie Antell, Instruction Coordinator, at least two weeks in advance. Classes in grades 10-12 are accepted if they have a substantial library research assignment. We suggest that lower grades use their school or local public library where more age appropriate information is available.
This hour-long walking tour of the art in the Bizzell Memorial Library begins in the 1929 Great Reading Room, includes modern Native American art, noted work by former OU School of Art professors, recently acquired student art and concludes with a tour of the art on display in the fifth floor special collections. Each tour is limited to 20 participants and can be scheduled by contacting the OU Libraries art liaison, Jeffrey M. Wilhite.
