Join us for Open Access Week from October 21st to 25th! Celebrate this year's theme, "Community over Commercialization." We’ll offer prize giveaways through interactive events like a yarn craft, spin-the-wheel game, and café discussion. We’ll explore how open access transforms scholarly communication.

Events open to all campus:

Monday, October 21, 1PM-3PM

Celebrate the start of International Open Access Week with a fun yarn craft while learning about the movement to democratize information. This event is at Bizzell Memorial Library - Main floor - across from the circulation desk.

Tuesday, October 22, & Wednesday, October 23, 11AM-1PM

Spin the wheel for a chance to win fun prizes while learning about OU Libraries' open access journals and publishing initiatives. This event is at Bizzell Memorial Library - Main floor - across from the circulation desk.

Open Access Digital Passport Challenge - Access your digital passport on Monday, October 21, and collect stamps by participating in Open Access Week events and attending any of the following mini challenges.

Participate to win prizes and earn raffle entries for lunch at the University Club with the Libraries Open Initiatives & Scholarly Communication (OISC) team!

4 points = swag bag + entry in the raffle
6 points = swag bag + 2 entries in the raffle
8 points = swag bag + 3 entries in the raffle
11 points (all activities!!) = swag bag + 5 entries in the raffle

Thursday, October 24, 1PM-3PM

Subvention Cafe - Enjoy coffee or tea while learning about the OU Libraries Subvention Funding Program and recent changes. This event is at the Bizzell Memorial Library Community Room: LL118 (across from the Bookmark Cafe).

Friday, October 25, 1:30 PM-2:30 PM

OA Week Celebration - Join us for tea and cake to celebrate participants who completed the Open Access Digital Passport Challenge. This event is at the Bizzell Memorial Library Community Room: LL118 (across from the Bookmark Cafe).
