OU Libraries’ Alternative Textbook Grants help reduce the cost of course materials by supporting faculty members in the adoption, adaptation or creation of affordable course content. All OU Norman instructors are eligible to apply for awards of up to $2,500.

These grants are designed to support instructors adopt Open Educational Resources and other no-cost resources to ease the financial burden of students. Alternative textbooks give faculty members the power to customize content specifically for their courses as well as provide less expensive resources for their students.

2022 marks our 8th grant cycle, and we've been able to save students over $4 million dollars. Grant applications are open now through Monday, March 7, 2022. If you are interested in applying, learn more at our Alternative Textbook Guide or contact Open Educational Resources Librarian, Morgan Briles.
