Associate Dean for Research & Academic Success
The University of Oklahoma Libraries invites applications for an assistant or associate professor to serve as Associate Dean for Research & Academic Success. We seek an innovative, collaborative, experienced, and motivated individual to provide leadership and vision in designing and implementing an integrated strategy and creative, sustainable approaches to building and managing research library collections, from selection and acquisition, through metadata and discovery, to storage and delivery of materials and providing services including instruction, circulation and liaison support. This position leads goal setting, planning, prioritization, design, and monitoring of workflows within five major library units; builds relationships and effectively engages with internal and external library partners; explores and advocates for new and emerging tools and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness in service to library users. Processing and Collections Management Archivist
The University of Oklahoma Libraries seeks to recruit a Processing and Collections Management Archivist. The Archivist is responsible for processing and managing archival collections held by University Libraries Special Research Collections. This work includes accessioning, arranging, housing, and describing archival collections in accordance with professional standards to support increased collection accessibility and discoverability. Working under the direction of the Coordinator and Senior Archivist, Special Collections Processing Unit, the Archivist creates and edits finding aids in the Libraries’ ArchivesSpace instance. Organizes archival collections stored at the Library Service Center and records collections storage information in the Library Service Center’s shelf management software system. Pulls and shelves archival boxes at the Library Service Center in a timely manner for daily campus circulation requests. Performs stacks management activities and relocates collections to maximize efficient storage. Manages intake of archival supplies. Creates custom archival enclosures and participates in special projects as assigned. Trains and guides the work of student assistants and temporary staff as directed. Requisition # 241998
OU Libraries seeks an innovative, collaborative and highly motivated individual to serve as the STEM Instruction Librarian. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of scholarly information, best practices in library and technology pedagogy, and research methods across multiple science disciplines, and will join a diverse team of librarians and specialists serving the STEM fields and collaborating to promote scholarly communication, open educational resources, emerging technologies, research data management, digital scholarship and geospatial information systems supporting the learning and research needs of science departments. The STEM Instruction Librarian will engage faculty and instructors to integrate and scaffold information, digital and data literacy concepts and skills into the departments’ curricula and coordinate with colleagues to create teaching/learning opportunities to meet evolving educational needs.
