University community members are welcome to join the UL at a celebration March 6, 3-4:30 pm in BL LL118, marking a decade of alternative textbook grants.
University Libraries' alternative textbook grant applications open for the tenth year February 12th.
In the past decade, alternative textbook grants have saved OU students over $4 million. The grants are designed to encourage instructors to adopt open educational resources (OER) and other no-cost resources to ease the financial burden associated with course materials for students. Alternative textbooks also empower instructors to customize content specifically for their courses.
Successful applicants may receive up to $2,500 to help reduce the cost of course materials through the adoption of OER and other materials free to students. Supplemental funds may also be available through instructors' academic units.
All OU instructors are eligible to apply. Applications close Monday, March 25.
