While open access publications are free for all readers, publishing in open access publications is not always free for authors. There are several different open access models, from fully open journals, to hybrid journals where some articles are openly available and some are only accessible via subscription. In some models, associated article processing costs (APCs) are the responsibility of the author or their associated institution. The University of Oklahoma Libraries (OU Libraries) has established memberships, subscriptions, and agreements with the publishers below, resulting in a discount for OU authors publishing in their open access journals.

| Frontiers | As of February 1, 2024, OU Libraries is in the process of renegotiating an agreement with Frontiers. In the interim, our previous agreement will continue to provide OU authors with a 15% discount on article processing charges for open access articles, but please note that this is subject to change. This page will be updated once a new agreement is finalized. |
