Graduate student focus rooms provide private, flexible spaces for graduate students to work or study. Many of the focus rooms can be reserved up for four hours at a time, as much as one month in advance; alternatively several of the rooms are available first-come, first-served to walk-ins. The focus rooms include a variety of furniture, including large traditional desks, sit-to-stand desks, lounge seating, and treadmill desks. For more details please see our Reserve a Room page.

The Learning Lab Classroom is a flexible space that focuses on group work and brainstorming, instruction sessions, presentations, workshops, and other events. The classroom supports groups up to 24 individuals. An instructor podium and short throw projector that allows for instructors to be right next to the display without the risk of blocking out sections of the display are also available in the classroom.

OU faculty, staff, and graduate students are invited to use the studio spaces in the Consultations @ OU Libraries space for collaborative meetings. There are three studio spaces (Studio A, B, and C) that can be reserved in advanced. Each space fits 5 people comfortably and has an LCD panel for shared viewing.

The Podcast Studio in Bizzell provides the OU community with the technology to make audio and video recordings. 

Mac Computer: The Podcasting Studio features one iMac that is preloaded with software such as Audacity and GarageBand. A microphone is already plugged into the station ready for patrons to use with additional USB plugins for storage devices. Users can use the computer to not only record their content, but also upload it to their RSS feeds, hosted platforms, or their own websites.
 
Blue Yeti Mics: The Podcasting Studio features two USB Blue Yeti Pro Microphones complete with boom stands affixed to the table in the room. These mics offer users a variety of recording pattern options such as stereo, cardiod, omnidirectional, and bidirectional. One mic comes already plugged into the iMac located in the room and the other is available to plug into the user’s personal device.
 
Audio Technica ATH-M40X Headphones: The Podcasting Studio feature two sets of Audio Technica ATH-M40X headphones. While helpful for monitoring the participants audio levels, the headphones are not required to record within the space. These can be plugged into the iMac, Blue Yeti Mics, or the user’s personal devices.
 

The Recording Studio is located within the Consultations @ OU Libraries space, and gives faculty, staff, and graduate students a quite space to record content such as lecture slides, images, videos, or live demonstrations. Since OU IT no longer supports the software in the Recording Studio, we recommend bringing your own device and equipment to record your projects. The Community Room is at the heart of the Helmerich Collaborative Learning Center and is designed for special events that engage the University community. The space will be open for library users when not scheduled for an event.

The classroom supports groups of up to 48 individuals at 8 round tables. A centrally located instructor’s station allows for full control of the technology from a single Crestron panel. 
 

The Conference Room is located within the Consultations @ OU Libraries space. Faculty, graduate students, and staff can hold virtual meetings in the Conference Room using Zoom, a video conferencing system. The Conference Room’s physical space fits up to 15 people comfortably.
