Love Data Week 2026

Love Data Week is an international celebration of data, taking place every year during the week of Valentine’s day. Universities, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, corporations and individuals are encouraged to host and participate in data-related events and activities. This year’s Love Data Week theme is “Where’s the Data?” – a way to get people thinking about data’s journey from collection through storage and preservation. The theme opens up exciting possibilities for interactive programming, whether that’s hosting data-themed games, building data literacy skills, or diving into the ethics of responsible data use.

The University of Oklahoma Libraries participates in Love Data Week each year by offering workshops, designed and led by librarians, that teach data and research skills. These workshops include our Survival Skills series which focuses on beginner level data and computing concepts to help you with organization and workflow. Participants can also join the Level-Up League, a software development community where we play, game, and discuss why video games have the magic they do.
