Bio

As the Director of Digital Collections and Digitization, Barb brings greater access to the University Libraries Special Collections materials, in order to enhance scholarship, teaching, and community engagement. Her role encompasses strategic planning, product & project management, and communication to advance cultural-heritage digital collections, digitization, digital-content preservation, the Digitization Lab, and related initiatives and projects.
 
Barb joined OU Libraries in 2012. She earned a Masters of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from the University of Oklahoma with an emphasis on digital scholarship and special collections, and a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science from the University of Washington. She finished the master’s-level program of study and research in Meteorology at the Pennsylvania State University. She regularly presents on cultural-heritage digitization and digital collections issues.
