The University Libraries' emerging technologies unit is here to augment the research and instruction life cycle of the OU community through the application of new and underutilized technologies. While this team is always keeping an eye out for the next academic technology disruptor, the team currently focuses on 3D scanning, 3D printing, and virtual and augmented reality.

3D Scanning Lab
The 3D Scanning Lab provides researchers with equipment, software, and consultation throughout the entire 3D modeling process, from project development through data capture, publication, and archiving. The lab is staffed by trained technicians who are able to work with you to create 3D models for your research.
Research 3D Printing
Research 3D Printing supports campus research through 3D printing consultations and services. Unlike the Library MakerSpace, print times can exceed 12 hours and a variety of filaments are able to be printed with, such as: PLA, PETG, TPU, and ASA.
