To obtain a Borrower's Permit, an individual must meet all of the following criteria:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Proof of Oklahoma residency
- Photo Identification - valid state driver's license, state I.D. card, passport, military I.D.
- No University of Oklahoma affiliation
- No unpaid bills at the University of Oklahoma
- Exact change or check only
To apply, please print the Borrower's Permit Application and submit the form and payment (exact change or check only) to the Circulation Desk at the west entrance of Bizzell Memorial Library during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). You may also mail a check and the completed form to the address listed below and a card will be mailed to you pending verification. Please include a copy of proof of residency and a valid photo ID. You will be allowed to borrow up to 30 books for 30 days, with 5 renewals. Your card is good for one year, and you are subject to the same fines as students. We do not provide off-campus access to databases to borrowers, but you may apply for a temporary ID to use these databases in Bizzell library.
