Sooner Xpress

What is Sooner Xpress?

Sooner Xpress is the University of Oklahoma Norman Campus Document Delivery Service for faculty, staff and students. Sooner Xpress provides digitized copies of journal articles, digitized copies of book chapters, and books from the OU Libraries' collection to faculty, staff, and students for their personal research.
 

Costs
Sooner Xpress is free! We will deliver books to your campus address, mail them to your off-campus address, or we can hold them for pick-up at the OU library you choose. If we mail or deliver books to your address, you will be responsible for the books from the time they leave the library until they are returned. In addition, you will be responsible for the return postage costs. Articles will be delivered electronically to your My ILL page.


Requesting an Item Through Sooner Xpress

The best way to request materials through Sooner Xpress is through the catalog. Within the catalog, view the "Get It" link for the item you wish to request, then click on the "Request via Sooner Xpress" link and complete the form. You will need to be logged into the libraries' website to request materials.

You may also use the blank online Sooner Xpress forms for books or for articles to request an item. These are located on your My ILL page which can be accessed through the MY ILL / Sooner Xpress link on the library homepage under "Quick Links." Please make sure the item you are requesting is held by the OU Libraries by checking the catalog. Please include as much information as possible.

Some materials are not available through Sooner Xpress:

  • Materials on Reserve
  • Items in non-circulating collections
  • E-books

    Scans from print materials in non-circulating collections or on reserve may be requested through Sooner Xpress.

If an item from a circulating collection is missing or checked out to another user, your request will be converted to an interlibrary loan request.

Delivery
Requests for articles and books to be held at an OU library are typically satisfied within 1 to 2 working days. Off-campus U.S. mail delivery may take up to 2 weeks. Consider on-campus delivery or pick-up at Bizzell Library instead.


Once you have received notification that your article has arrived, login to the library's website with your OUNETID (4x4) and click on “My ILL.” The article will be located under "Electronically Received Articles." Click on the PDF link to access your article.

Any problems with delivery or electronically received articles should be reported IMMEDIATELY to Interlibrary Loan at (405) 325-6422 or by email.


Returning Items
A return address label will be included if items are mailed to you. If you have picked items up in person but want to return them by mail, please use this address:
