Bio

Jay Edwards joined University Libraries in August of 2008, where he worked in Acquisitions and later the Ruby Grant Fine Arts Library, and currently serves as an Instruction Librarian.  He holds a Master of Library and Information Studies and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma.  He has been improvising since 2001, co-founded Red Dirt Improv and Improv Festival Oklahoma, and is currently the Improv Director of the Norman Medieval Fair. He is a member of multiple professional library associations and has published and presented on topics including education, public services, improvisation and playfulness. His most recent publication is “Word (and/or/not) play: The role of playfulness in searching and strategic exploration” from the 2022 issue of the Journal of Play in Adulthood.
