Student Activism is an open access collection providing access to primary sources documenting the deep and broad history of student organizing in the United States. Once completed, the collection will contain approximately 75,000 pages drawn from special collection libraries and archives around the country. Resources included are broad-based across time, geography, and political viewpoint — from the conservative to the anarchist. This collection includes leaflets, pamphlets, newsletters, campaign materials, protest literature, clippings, periodicals, bulletins, letters, press releases, and event documentation. Events covered include anti-apartheid divestiture, women’s rights, the free speech movement, the Columbia University student strike of 1968, Take-Back-the-Night anti-sexual assault activism, and much more.
