America's News provides a variety of news media, such as newspaper articles, news blogs, magazines, newswires, journals, transcripts, videos, and web-only news sources. This resource includes access to over 3,600 national, regional, and local news sources, including the Oklahoman from 1981 onward and the Oklahoma Web Edition from 2013 onward. 

General database covering all subject areas, including business, science, humanities, social science, medicine, technology, and popular culture. Provides citations to more than 12,600 academic journals and magazines.

This database is a multidisciplinary collection of streaming videos spanning a wide range of subject areas, including anthropology, business, psychology, film, history, music, and more. Resources include acclaimed and award-winning interdisciplinary documentaries, independent films, training and instructional videos, foreign films and shorts, newsreels, and other educational titles. 

NOTE: AVON video access is mediated. This means that any video not currently licensed for use will require the user to request access. Access is being enabled for class use with instructor approval.

Covers biographical material on over 6 million individuals from all time periods, geographical locations, and fields of activity. BGMI indexes material from current and major retrospective publications and includes over 20 million entries covering more than 2,000 year of human history.

Comprehensive guide to over 5.6 million book reviews in numerous disciplines, including literature, history, education, psychology, political science, and more. This database covers thousands of indexed publications, including Kirkus Reviews, Library Journal, New York Times Book Review, Times Literary Supplement, Village Voice, and Middle East Policy. 
 

NOTE: This database defaults initial search results to after 1980. To perform a search for reviews from 1965-1979, go to advanced search, uncheck the box labeled documents with full text, change the date limit to before January 1, 1980, and then enter your search terms.

CRL is a consortium of North American universities, colleges, and independent research libraries which acquires and preserves newspapers, journals, documents, archives, and other resources. The University of Oklahoma is a member of CRL; OU students, faculty and staff may search the CRL catalog and request materials from CRL via Interlibrary Loan.

Covidence provides guided online software for streamlining evidence synthesis, such as systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and gap maps. This software works with citation managers such as Zotero and Endnote, allowing users to filter studies with machine learning or record screening and voting records per studies. Covidence also screens abstracts and full text, creates risk of bias tables, and exports results to common statistical packages.

Provides CQ Researcher reports that explore a single hot issue in the news each week, including political, social, medical, international, educational, environmental, technological and economical issues. Full text is available.

Indexes U.S. doctoral dissertations completed at accredited institutions since 1861 (abstracts since 1980) and dissertations and theses, most with abstracts, from the U.K. and Ireland since 1716. This database includes some dissertations from Canada and Europe, as well as some master's theses and foreign language dissertations. Find most OU dissertations full text through summer 2013; after that date, find OU dissertations in SHAREOK. Most dissertations from other institutions, 1997 to present, are full text. To obtain pre-1997 dissertations, use the interlibrary loan request form.

A key international business paper based in London, the Financial Times Historical Archive provides access to fully searchable digital reproductions of every issue from 1888-2021. Coverage includes critical financial and economic events, industry, energy, international politics, and more recently management, personal finance and the arts.

Google Scholar enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts, and technical reports from all broad areas of research. Use Google Scholar to find articles from a wide variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web.

Shared digital repository of millions of library books and journals converted from print resources owned by research institutions around the world. HathiTrust Digital Library does not permit downloading or viewing the full text of books that are still under copyright (typically published since 1923). Only materials that are no longer under copyright may be viewed online or downloaded.

This database includes full text magazines, reference books, recipes, hobby profiles, and videos covering a variety of hobbies including arts and crafts, collecting, gardening, indoor and outdoor recreation, needlecrafts, papercrafts, model building, performing arts, and science and technology.

Provides detailed, user-friendly "how-to" information covering a variety of home improvement and repair projects.
