Located on Lower Level 2 of Bizzell Memorial Library, the Zarrow Family Faculty & Graduate Student Center is a space dedicated to supporting the research and teaching needs of OU faculty and graduate students in a central campus location. The Zarrow Family Faculty & Graduate Student Center recognizes the library as essential to discovery and supports creative interaction among faculty and graduate students. The center enables members of the academic community to access the wide variety of information resources available through OU Libraries creatively, analytically, and critically in pursuit of academic goals.
A valid and functional OU ID is needed to access most areas in the Zarrow Family Faculty & Graduate Student Center, as access is limited to faculty and graduate students. Those who need to meet with undergraduate students should utilize the consultation rooms that are available in the common area of Lower Level 2 or meet with the students elsewhere in Bizzell. Public access to the lobby and Oklahoma Canyon Garden is available.

Featured Spaces
The Graduate Student Focus Rooms provide private, flexible spaces for graduate students to work or study. Many of the focus rooms can be reserved up for four hours at a time, as much as one month in advance; alternatively several of the rooms are available first-come, first served to walk-ins. The focus rooms include a variety of furniture, including large traditional desks, sit-to-stand desks, lounge seating, and treadmill desks. For more details please see our Reserve a Room page.
The Faculty Focus rooms provide the same level of privacy and flexibility as the Graduate Student Focus Rooms, but allow for more long-term reservations. Faculty can reserve many of these spaces for up to eight hours at a time, one month in advance; others are available for as many as seven days at a time, up to three months in advance. Walk-in, first-come-first-served spaces are also available. The Faculty Focus rooms feature a variety of furniture, including large traditional desks, sit-to-stand desks, lounge seating, and treadmill desks. Open research and reading areas are available in both the faculty and graduate student areas of the Zarrow Family Faculty & Graduate Student Center. These areas will provide a quiet space to work on research or study, and include a number of shelves that can be reserved for personal use.
Available to both graduate students and faculty, the Scholars Lounge is located in the central area of the Zarrow Family Faculty & Graduate Student center and provides an open space with a variety of comfortable seating, study, and focus areas.
The Data Services Unit (Formerly DAVIS) supports OU community members with their data needs. Consult with specialists and graduate assistants who are familiar with working with data, including management, analysis and visualization. With the ability to ask questions and receive guidance, Data Services is the focal point to help faculty, researchers, and students work with their data.
Meeting rooms are available to large groups of faculty and graduate students, and can be reserved in advance. Each room includes multiple large white boards, high-definition monitors, and teleconferencing equipment. For more details please see our Reserve a Room page.
Consultation rooms are available for graduate students and faculty to meet with undergraduates. Each room includes a table and multiple chairs, and most include white-boards. For more details please see our Reserve a Room page.
The workroom in the Zarrow Family Faculty & Graduate Student Center includes two sit/stand desks and a bar-height collaboration table. A WEPA printer and KIC scanner are also available in this room. For details on using the printer, please see our Printing page.
The Oklahoma Canyon Garden is available to the public and can be accessed through Lower Level 2 of Bizzell Memorial Library.
Policies
Access to the Zarrow Family Faculty and Graduate Student Center is granted based on an individual’s official status with the University of Oklahoma as determined by OneCard data and is limited to graduate students and faculty.
Lockers are available to graduate students and faculty for short-term storage on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bookshelves located in graduate student and faculty research rooms are available for storage of research materials.
Doctoral students who have completed their coursework, passed their qualifying exams, and are currently enrolled in dissertation credits may apply for access to the Faculty Focus Rooms, the Faculty Research Room and other amenities available in that space.
Technology
Apple TV
Apple TVs are available for patrons to access as a streaming device. It works as a digital media adapter that allows users to connect to a high-definition television via wi-fi.
Display Monitors
Display monitors are available for instructors students to access as a digital demonstration device. These devices are available throughout the library rooms.
Large Display
Large displays are available for reserve in library rooms. Media, presentations, or demonstrations can be displayed by a computer or laptop.
Printers
Printers are available for instructors and students throughout the library. The printers can be used to print documents by accessing a library computer that is wirelessly connected to the device.
Room Audio/Microphone
Room audio and microphone are available at an instructor station. The microphone device allows audio to surround the entire room.
Video Conferencing Equipment
Equipment is available for video conferencing. Video conferencing is a telecommunication technology that allows a two way video and audio transmission between two or more locations.
Wi-Fi Access
Wi-Fi access is available in all rooms of the library. Instructors and students can access the internet by wirelessly connecting to the University's wi-fi network.
